Description: This 4-hour lecture will include 2 hours of some of the author’s most interesting neuro-optometric cases he has encountered. The second 2 hours will be spent addressing attendees’ cases that they have personally encountered in their own clinical practices. An attempt will be made to gather your neuro cases in an efficient manner, where the author will research your topic (based on your challenging case) and attempt to help navigate management of your case in hopes of arriving with a more clear clinical picture and (hopefully) answer to your patients’ clinical findings. This “no pressure” workshop for the attendee attempts to put all of the “pressure” on the presenter to find an answer to your clinical conundrums! With the presenter sharing your cases anonymously this provides an excellent opportunity to safely and securely obtain guidance on those challenging cases you always wanted to ask for help on, but maybe you never got around to following up on. Come ready to review some interesting neuro-optometry cases!”
Bio:
Dr. Chris Borgman is an assistant professor at the Southern College of Optometry. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at Central College in Pella, Iowa and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. Following graduation, Dr. Borgman completed a one-year residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Illinois College of Optometry/Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He has authored numerous articles published on the topics of various ocular disease conditions, and has also lectured in many continuing education venues, both nationally and internationally, on the topics of primary care ocular diseases, ocular pharmacology, ocular manifestations of systemic diseases, and neuro-optometric diseases. Dr. Borgman currently sees patients and supervises students in a clinical setting at The Eye Center at SCO, and teaches two classroom courses: Systemic Pathology, and Integrative Analysis. His areas of professional interest include primary care ocular disease, ocular manifestations of systemic disease, and neuro-optometric diseases.
